KU Jayhawks arrive in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX (KSNW) – The Kansas Jayhawks are in San Antonio and they were already greeted by fans in Texas, and it’s only Wednesday.

Kansas is the underdog heading into their matchup Saturday against Villanova. But of course, Kansas was the underdog heading into their matchup against Duke. So maybe that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

KU also has some history on their side.

Remember the last time KY played in a Final Four in San Antonio? That was in 2008 and it worked out pretty well for Kansas. All they did was play in one of the most exciting national title games of all time, and they brought home some hardware.

"There’s a lot of memories," said KU Head Coach Bill Self. "We haven’t always been good here. We got beat by VCU here too in 2011, but it was a little bit different scenario; it wasn’t the Final Four. Great memories, but we gotta make new memories."

Kansas practices Thursday at 2:50 p.m. It is not open to the public but the locker room will be open beforehand. Stay with KSN Sports for continued coverage as the Jayhawks prepare for their big Final Four game on Saturday.
